We built KoruTalk with privacy as a core principle — no account required, no camera access, minimal data collection.

We collect only what is necessary to operate the service:

  • Session data: A temporary, anonymous session ID is created when you start a chat. It is discarded when the session ends.

  • Chat messages: Messages are relayed in real time and are not stored on our servers after the session ends.

  • Technical data: Standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and timestamps. These are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

  • Usage analytics: Aggregate, anonymised data about how features are used (e.g. number of active sessions). No personally identifiable information is included.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and improve KoruTalk, detect and prevent abuse, ensure platform safety, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Cookies

We use a single first-party cookie to remember your theme preference (light or dark mode). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

5. Data Retention

Chat messages are not stored after a session ends. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days. Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

6. Children's Privacy

KoruTalk is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has used the service, please contact us immediately.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we collect minimal data and do not require accounts, most requests can be fulfilled by simply ending your session. For other requests, contact us at the address below.
