How it works
Pick a vibe
Before matching, choose a mood tag — just talk, vent, debate, laugh, advice, or night owl. You'll be paired with someone who picked the same one.
Allow microphone
When you tap Voice Chat, your browser asks for microphone access. No camera permission is needed — only audio. You can revoke access any time.
Connect peer-to-peer
KoruTalk uses WebRTC to establish a direct audio connection. The call is between you and the stranger — no server recording the audio in the middle.
Disconnect and move on
When the conversation ends, disconnect and the session is gone. No recordings, no transcripts, no history. Start a new match any time.
Why voice chat without video?
Most random chat platforms are built around video — and that puts most people off. Being on camera with a stranger you've never met creates pressure that makes real conversation harder. You're managing how you look as well as what you're saying.
Audio-only removes that pressure entirely. You can focus on what's being said. Conversations tend to go deeper because neither person is performing for a camera. It's closer to a phone call than a video meeting — and for talking to strangers, that's usually a better experience.
How vibe matching improves voice conversations
Random matching without intent signals produces random-quality conversations. KoruTalk's vibe system solves this at the source. If you select "vent", you're matched with someone who actively wants to listen. If you pick "debate", you get someone who wants to argue ideas. The conversation has a direction before it starts, which makes the first 30 seconds — the hardest part of any random chat — significantly easier.
Privacy in peer-to-peer voice chat
KoruTalk uses WebRTC for voice, which means the audio goes directly between your browser and the stranger's — not through a recording server. KoruTalk's servers handle the initial matchmaking and signalling, but once the call is established, the audio is peer-to-peer. No recordings are made at any point. When you disconnect, there is no audio file to retain, share, or breach.
